"What becomes of us when we die?"
Dear Reader,
You were probably wondering the same thing I was. The kid next door was. Your parents. You yearn to know what awaits us after sudden, or expected, death. Well, it isn't easy to explain. It's not as simple as the pits of hell, or the utopia of heaven. No, it's much more complicated then that. And it's not even from any sort of believable standpoint. I tell you only truth.
The Beyond is a home for many, and a prison for some. Sort of an open door of opportunities and choices laid out before us. There are three levels you can be there. Wanderers are basic: they just died, and trying to figure out what happened. Why they're there. What they're supposed to do. They need to find a reason, much like people search for Below. It's very similar to it, in fact, minus one detail: we're all dead.
There are also Discoveries, who, more or less, have found their reasons. I am, in fact, one of them, and among our flock are deeds that need to be fulfilled. I'm talking about helping the Wanderers. It's safety in numbers here, whether you be in the practical slums on the outskirts of Main Street, the dark corridors of The Ward, or the edge of The See. It's our goal to help you meet yours. Of course, not all are so helpful, but if you badger them enough, they'll surely help you out.
And then there are The Forgotten. These are the people that don't care about a reason. Most were killed in crime, or have a hurtful past. Some have memories, some don't, much like the Wanderers. Not all of them are mutes or rejects, but enough of them are. There are rumors that some are god-like creatures, or have beautiful abilities, but usually, they're too hard to figure out. They're our local enigmas, if you will.
It's not easy around here. It's just as hard as living. Between fighting with nasty Discoveries, struggling towards The See, and coping with the hardest memories of all as they slowly return, it's not all that far from things you might have experienced, say, Below (on Earth, I mean). Think of it as a road trip to discovering yourself. Uncovering the things you didn't know about your mind and psyche when you were living. This is the moment to live the life you always wanted, but maybe never got the chance.
Welcome to Your Wildest Dreams.
Buckle up. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.
Love, Writer.[/blockquote]
